We are announcing an important update regarding the minimum wages for employees in 74 scheduled employments in Uttar Pradesh, effective from October 1, 2025, to March 31, 2026. This revision is based on the Minimum Wages Act, 1948.
Variable Dearness Allowance (VDA) Calculation
This updated minimum wage includes a new component called the Variable Dearness Allowance (VDA). The VDA has been calculated based on the All India Consumer Price Index (Base Year 2001=100). The calculation uses the average index points from January 2025 to June 2025 (414 points), which is above the average of 216 points from July 2012 to December 2012. This increase in the VDA amount directly reflects the rise in the Consumer Price Index.

Below are the total monthly and daily minimum wage rates (which include the basic wage and the new VDA) for different categories of workers, effective from October 1, 2025.
